Hi we are Mark and Susan and our four kids.

The Vision I received from God was to plant a Church that was real.simple. 

 

Susan and I prayed through the vision and as I began to seek God more He began to remind me of the places I have been and the Life I have Lived- A life that has had many up’s and many down’s. He reminded me of my “Story”. The Story that has made me, developed me, challenged me and ultimately led me to my knees seeking His forgiveness and repentance for my sins. The beginning was a LONG process of being mentored, plugged into several Pastors for discipleship and surrendering to a call to ministry. I ran from this calling for so many years. It wasn’t until several of these men of accountability pointed out to me that eventually; I would surrender and quit running. I can still remember that day as I prayed and asked God to make it clear to me that I was to start simple.church. 

 

God had us start a small group in our living room with a few couples in the summer of 2012. This grew into a core group of strong Christ followers that confirmed and believed in His calling in my life as well as the Vision He gave fro simple.church.

 

Over the summer and winter of 2012  and we continued to have small group studies, and even had a few “Back Yard Tent” services. Yes I said Tent Service!  This same group of people felt led to serve alongside another amazing group of Church Planters for about 5 months or so- We learned SO MUCH and looking back now, I can see exactly why He had us do/experience so many things before we eventually started “Church Services”. 

The entire time He was still preparing us, simple.church. for His Vision! I hope I never forget how He grew us spiritually over that period of time in the summer/winter of 2012. There is no doubt that He was preparing us for what was to come.

 

In January of 2013 we began to do House Church, in our living room. It started with 2-3 couples and grew to 30+ people in 3 short months. The families began to ask, what would be next. I begged God to be clear! Please don’t allow me to get in front of you. Please don’t let me run to fast!! 

In March 2013, we found our building at 2601 Shorter Avenue and 3 days later, in a small 2,000 square foot glass showroom (of a large sub-divided warehouse) we had our very first simple.service.

 

Simple has grown from those 2-3 couples to nearly 200 people in 5 short months, seeing 70+ people accept Jesus Christ as there Savior and we have seen over 55 of them baptized and plug into small group’s for discipleship.

 

I have no idea how He chose a knucklehead like me to lead this church! I just know He is good and He is faithful! John 3:30, He must increase and I must decrease. He will ALWAYS be the CEO of simple.church. His Vision will NEVER be sold to a group of “do-gooders” with an agenda, (the religious crowd).

We will never be about religion- we will always be about Jesus, making disciples, sharing the Gospel and serving others, PERIOD! It really is that simple.

 

Simple.church.  is and will always be a church for the De-Churched, Un-Churched and those Far From God. 

 

A simple place for men, women and children to connect to God. at there own pace. A place where no matter where you have been in life, you would be welcomed into a “judgment free” environment. A place where discipleship was not only an option but a way of life! A Church that was built on the strength of Small Groups and local missions where we seek daily to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to “serve the least of these”.

 

At simple.church. we have a very simple philosophy, Love God and Love People. We do not judge here. We “simply” say, come as you are. No more red tape to get to God. It’s simple here, because that is who we are.

 

simple.church exists for those of us who are tired of the spirit of religiosity getting in the way of knowing who God is. 

 

We always desired to have a place where there was absolutely no need to pull out that suit that you wear once every 10 years, or dress to impress, we simply say- Come as you are! 

We will be in Jeans and shorts!

 

So that you can relax and enjoy the Worship Service, we have age appropriate simple.kids. where your children will learn about the Bible and God’s love for them. There will be relevant teaching for  Pre-K-3rd grade from a very dedicated staff of volunteers. 

 

It was CLEAR that we were to be a church for ALL people!

If you have a special needs family member and need a private worship area, simple.church. is ready to serve you!

In our Special Needs Worship Room at simple.church. we have created a place where you can enjoy our service at your own pace with comfortable furniture, flat screen monitor and audio as well as access to our simple.kids. volunteers to serve you as you worship.

Relevant Biblical teaching, worship, discipleship, small groups, student ministry, local missions, friendships, recovery-support, guidance and a place that will ALWAYS teach about God’s only Son Jesus and His grace, goodness and sacrifice for our sins.
